All you need to know about The Blind Busker

If you ever find yourself in the bustling centre of Hove, just over a stone's throw away from Palmeira Square, make sure to check out The Blind Busker

A pub that combines spacious interiors with cosy, welcoming vibes and numerous nooks and crannies, The Blind Busker is the perfect spot for a date, big group gathering or a decent (and good value) bite to eat.

Named after Harry Vowles – a popular blind busker from 1880 – this Hove-based local has long been a firm favourite of ours, offering everything from great food to live sports in a setting that feels like a second home. Oh, and did I also mention it’s one of the best places to watch live sports anywhere in Brighton?

Food and drink at The Blind Busker

Which types of drinks is it good for? 🍺

Cider lovers, rejoice! The Blind Busker is the perfect spot for those who enjoy a good cider, with a range of flat and fruity options that won’t disappoint.

Plus, their Guinness comes highly recommended by the bartender we were served by. Although, if you're in the mood for something a little more quirky, the Peanut Butter Jelly (peanut butter whisky & Chambord) is a must-try, especially at only £2.50.

Does it do food? 🍔

Yes, and it’s everything you’d expect from classic gastro-pub grub. Think hearty, comforting dishes that cover all the bases, no matter what you’re craving.

It’s also a lot better value for money than most other pubs around the area and they have a handy app you can use if you can’t be bothered to queue. Check out their food and drink menu here.

Does it do roast dinners? 🍗

You bet! Their Sunday roasts are a must-try, with all the trimmings and plenty of gravy. Mmm, delicious, juicy gravy.

Features and amenities at The Blind Busker

Does it have a beer garden? ☀️

Yep, it does! With seating available both out the front and the back, you’ve got options either way.

Whether you’d rather soak up the sun or enjoy the roadside ambience (and people-watching potential), The Blind Busker has you covered.

Is it dog friendly? 🐶

Absolutely! Pooches are welcomed with open arms (quite literally in some cases!), and there’s no shortage of treats to keep them happy.

Does it have any games or activities available? 🎲

Yes, you can settle in with some classic board games, or try your hand at darts.

It’s also a great hybrid sports bar, with live football matches often attracting local fans (including the occasional sighting of the iconic @paulythepainterhove).

Does it run a pub quiz? 🧐

Yes, every Thursday is quiz night! So sharpen those pencils and get your thinking caps on.

Does it show live sport? ⚽️

Yep, whether it’s football, rugby, or anything in between, The Blind Busker has got you covered. There’s also plenty of screens so, pretty much wherever you decide to sit, you’ll be able to catch the action.

How far a walk is it from the nearest train station? 🚂

It’s roughly a 16-minute walk from Hove train station – close enough for an easy stroll, even after you’ve had a few pints!

How would you describe The Blind Busker...?

...to a friend? 🗣️

The Blind Busker is a spacious pub right in the heart of Hove – the perfect spot for a casual drink or to watch some live sport.

The large bar is always well-stocked, and there’s always something happening — whether that be a special deal on drinks, their Thursday quiz night or whichever live sports happen to be on at the time.

The selection of flat ciders is also a big draw for anyone who appreciates a good, Westcountry-style tipple. Plus, it’s got those cosy nooks for laughs, debates and maybe even some awkward waves at some of Brighton’s local legends.

...as a film? 🍿

Steve Jobs – a solid choice with a subtle nod to Apple (or in this case, cider!).
