What’s the PUBBL app?
First things first, if you’re not sure what the PUBBL app actually is, let’s take a closer look.
PUBBL is a bright yellow pub rewards app that allows you to collect points from various pubs around Brighton and Hove. It’s essentially like having a pub-based version of a Tesco Clubcard.
However, you can’t use it to claim points from every pub in Brighton. Since the app largely features pubs run by LAINE, you can only really use it in places that serve LAINE classics like Fader, Source, Sonar or Mangolicious behind the bar.
Here’s how it works:
You’ll earn 10 PUBBL points for every £1 you spend generally
You’ll earn 20 PUBBL points for every £1 you spend on LAINE beer
You can also use the app to order food and drinks directly from your table. So it’s a pretty handy pubbing tool to have ready for whenever you need it.
Where are the best PUBBL pubs?
While you can use the PUBBL pub finder to see where you can collect points from, not all pubs are created equal.
That’s why we’ve picked out ten of our favourite PUBBL pubs for you to visit and rack up some reward points from. Here’s where we’d head if we were you (in no particular order, of course):
1. The World’s End

One of Brighton’s most unique pubs, with its own microbrewery, escape room and giant Scalextric track.
Where is it? 📍
London Road, opposite The Hare & Hounds (which is also on PUBBL)
What’s the must-try? 🤩
Heading upstairs to get your very own driving license.
2. The Exchange
In one sip… 🍻
A big boozer located a stone’s throw away from Hove station, where a giant ‘X’ marks the spot.
Where is it? 📍
Hove, approximately a four-minute walk from the train station.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
Visiting when there’s some live sport available to watch.
3. Shakespeare’s Head
In one sip… 🍻
A quirky delight of a pub just down the road from the Seven Dials roundabout.
Where is it? 📍
Tucked away just down the road from the Seven Dials roundabout.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
Three words: sausage and mash. Our fave? Farmhouse sausage with thyme and port gravy.
4. Open house
In one sip… 🍻
A stylish, casual spot known for its fab food and homely beer garden.
Where is it? 📍
Just up the road from the London Road viaduct.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
Enjoying a good old pint of LAINE in one of the beer garden’s heated pods.
5. Old Albion
In one sip… 🍻
An incredibly quirky and welcoming pub with a good variety of craft beer options.
Where is it? 📍
Along Church Road in Hove, between The Blind Busker and the giant TESCO.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
A visit to the photo booth. With a pint of LAINE Mangolicious in hand, of course.
6. Fountainhead

Big and dark on the outside but beautiful and relaxing on the inside, with fab bar staff and beer.
Where is it? 📍
North Laine, just up the road from Victoria Gardens.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
A Pottery & Pint Class. Either that or one of their Wednesday pub quizzes.
7. Mesmerist
In one sip… 🍻
A multi-level pubbing experience with fab bao buns, live jazz nights and a rooftop terrace.
Where is it? 📍
Right in the heart of The Lanes, a stone’s throw away from other pubs like The Black Lion, Bohemia, The Cricketers and Seven Stars.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
A visit to the rooftop terrace with a delicious bao bun.
8. The Actors
In one sip… 🍻
An artista's dream come true – a pub with a huge range of pub and theatre-based events and incredible food options.
Where is it? 📍
Very close to the Old Steine, just off of Edward Street in Kemptown.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
Any of the Caribbean food they offer or one of the many shows they have on. Maybe even both.
9. Sidewinder
In one sip… 🍻
Do you like beer gardens? How about four beer gardens? If so, Sidewinder is the pub for you.
Where is it? 📍
Beer Garden Heaven Land, more commonly known as St James Street in Kemptown.
What’s the must-try? 🤩

10. The Kemp
In one sip… 🍻
A vibrant, community pub known for its fab ranges of food, craft beer and whiskey.
Where is it? 📍
Slap bang in the middle of Kemptown, just down the road from Sidewinder.
What’s the must-try? 🤩
It has to be one of their whiskeys. Either that or one of the numerous events they often have on.
